University of Miami student organization Category 5 hosted “O Sports Day” to recognize Olympic Sports. The event offered free food, games and giveaways to show support to student athletes.
In 2020, the gesture is appreciated more than ever. Across the nation, college sports are not immune to the effects of COVID-19. In a desperate attempt by athletic departments to stay afloat, Olympic Sports are the first to go.
To date, hundreds of NCAA Programs have been cut or suspended in 2020.
This comes as no surprise to many. Olympic Sports have been shadowed by big ticket sports such as football, basketball and baseball for years.
In the minds of athletes everywhere, one question is left…“Who’s next?”
